Grateful to be inside with all the hot tea a girl could ever want.
Took things slow this weekend, stopped to smell the roses, and photograph the trapped and deflating balloons. Lots of early morning power yoga, relaxed friend time and quiet evenings at home with good food, music and my favorite companion.
I’ve been thinking a lot about a solitary vacation this year, something about it really intrigues me. When my yoga instructor mentioned a yoga and cooking retreat in Italy this May, my ears definitely perked up despite being drenched in sweat, holding bridge. Also on the solo radar would be theĀ Squam Art Workshop in June, just a couple of hours away in New Hampshire. Both seem incredibly relaxing and potentially inspiring.
It’s been too warm for snow this week, but I am secretly hoping for a big snow storm so I can go out and practice my new cross country skiing skillz.

It seems like every November I absolutely dread winter. However, more and more each year, I am coming to love it. Weekend temperatures in the 40s are making it especially nice. I spent most of my day Saturday wandering around downtown, enjoying what felt like a sunny spring day, shopping, people watching, tea drinking. I hope we can make it out cross country skiing again tomorrow, it should be snowy and warm.

We have been up to our ears in plumbing, assembling, patching, touch-up painting and all other things that seem to spring up when you decide to replace your lavatory vanity. Don’t worry, that terrible picture above is the “before” shot of our small bathroom, after we got curious and decided to see what was under the original mirror. As you can see above our vanity was fine, but cheap and two different shades of white, and the mirror was old and chipped. When we talked about replacing it, I didn’t know how much we would really get out of it, until we discovered that we could fit a dual sink along that wall. Read the rest of this entry »

This year we decided to visit our families down in Florida for the holidays. Lucky for us, we left just before the first big snow storm of the year in Boston, and missed the blustry weather altogether. The 60 degree weather in Florida may have seemed cold to the locals, but we loved being able to leave the house without spending 10 minutes wrapping up every inch of exposed skin in jackets, scarves, mittens, hats, wool socks, fleece lined tights…Yeah, it was good.
