Today, it still feels fresh. I miss him more than anything that has ever existed. It has been a difficult two years without my big brother – graduating, moving away, getting married, watching his son grow up. Nothing is a consolation.
We got back on Monday from a really nice trip to Florida. Thursday after work we flew into Orlando and my sister picked us up from the airport. She had to work the sunrise shift at her internship, so we pretty much went straight to bed. Friday both my parents took the day off and we all went hiking around Wekiva State Park. We took some ridiculous family photos on/behind some giant logs – I will have to update once I get copies from my sister. Then we went out to dinner and stuffed ourselves at Sweet Tomatoes.Saturday was my nephew’s 11th birthday party at a bowling alley in Orlando. This place was much more than just a bowling alley – they had arcade games, pool, 36 lanes, indoor mini golf, and bounce houses – craziness. My mom made her infamous volcano cake for the occasion.
