Long time coming…

Wow – haven’t updated in awhile, been too busy with actual life I guess. So here’s some highlights from the past 10 days.

10 days ago: Nick’s parents (my favorite inlaws!) and grandmama arrived in Boston. We had a relaxed dinner at Basta Pasta, a great little hole-in-the-wall italian (if you couldn’t guess) restaurant in Cambridgeport. We caught up over salads and giant bowls of pasta, mmmm.

Peckin apples

We picked a peck of perfect apples yesterday in NH with our friends, and their dog Buckley. It was an amazing New England fall day, blue skies and sweater-weather. We had fun just milling around through the organic apple orchard, and all wound up loving the honeycrisp apples, with which we filled our peck bags to the brim.

Some of the trees were filled with these teeny apples, which were so cute. Nick immediately started freaking out about all these tiny apples and was all “OMG. I wonder what they taste like?!?!” I told him they were wonderful, and not sour at all – quite the contrary he found out. So then we all commenced trying the freakishly sour apples, and then of course…tiny apple battles ensued…those things fly like delicious shrapnel.
